If you are making for Palazzo Pitti and the Boboli Garden, stepping out of Ponte Vecchio, stop at Sezione Aure "artistic shops" producing "jewels", with glass shapes crafted by skilled glass masters in Venice in unique colours, combined with 925 silver or gold and Swarovski crystals.
These are unique pieces of art, which you will not be able to find anywhere else in Italy, mixing up different masterings, the venetian glassmakers with the Florentine goldsmiths.
Where to eat:
Galleria Ristorante - Not touristy at all. Great- On the other side of the river- Pappardelle w/Cinghiale sauce

It is quite expensive, but has a Trattoria just beside it which is more affordable especially if you drink good wine. No reservation is needed, then try to be there not too late.
